Elderly couple left tied up in home invasion

Three persons broke into a home in Deurne on Friday morning. They tied up the elderly couple in the home, robbed them, and fled, the police said on Twitter.

The robbers were wearing balaclavas and entered the home on Zwin through the back. As far as is known, no weapons were used. The perpetrators fled with an amount of money.

The elderly couple were left tied up in the home. According to Omroep Brabant, they were tied up for 45 minutes before the woman managed to free herself and call the police. The man was later taken to hospital for examination for health reasons, according to the police.

The police are looking for the perpetrators. A trace evidence investigation was done in the home and officers spoke to local residents.
