High school evacuated after bomb threat
All locations of school community Lek en Linge in Culemborg were evacuated on Tuesday morning due to a bomb threat. Because it was initially unclear which location was threatened, the police ordered all locations evacuated. No bomb was found, AD reports.
The bomb threat turned out to be aimed at VMBO location on Ina Boudier-Bakkerstraat in Culemborg. The bomb would go off at 11:00 a.m., according to a threat. The police carefully searched the school. Nothing was found and pupils were allowed to return to their classes.
According to rector Joost van Rijn, this was a stupid joke. "There are always people who make extremely wrong jokes", he said to the newspaper. He pointed out the timing of the bomb threat - shortly before exam period.
