Man gunned down in Eindhoven neighborhood

A man was shot in killed in the Eindhoven residential neighborhood Strijp on Thursday morning. A passerby found the victim in a car parked on Den Bult street and called the police around 8:00 a.m., AD reports.

Emergency services, including an air ambulance, were deployed to the scene immediately, but the man could not be saved. He died at the scene. 

The body was found in a classic Mercedes. A glass was found on the ground, next to the passenger side of the car, according to the newspaper. 

What exactly happened is not yet clear. The police closed down the area as a crime scene for forensic investigation. Police officers are also talking to local residents.

A number of local residents told AD that they did not hear or see anything. Most only noticed something was wrong when the police showed up.
