Groningen couple killed in murder-suicide

A couple found dead in their home in the Groningen village of Nieuwe Pekela last month, were killed in a murder suicide, the police announced on Monday.

The 62-year-old man murdered his 58-year-old wife and then killed himself.

The bodies were found in a home on Kienholt on Saturday, March 31st. The police launched an investigation when it became clear the victims did not die of natural causes.

The couple was not known to any aid organizations.
