Key witness' brother assassinated in Amsterdam

A person was killed in a shooting on TT. Melissaweg at the NDSM lot in Amsterdam on Thursday morning, the police said on Twitter. Het Parool identifies the victim as the brother of a key witnesses in a case revolving around multiple assassinations.

The police reported the shooting just after 9:00 a.m. The area has been closed to the public and forensic investigators are at the scene.

According to Het Parool, the victim is 41-year-old Reduan B. He runs a business on TT. Melissaweg. The police have not confirmed his identity. A burning car was found around the corner.

The victim's brother Nabil B., himself involved in preparations for an assassination, gave the police testimony in which he accused gang leaders Ridouan T. and Said R. of involvement in a number of assassinations. According to the newspaper, there's been speculation in the criminal circuit that Nabil's family members would be murdered since last week Friday.

This murder happened within a week after the judiciary announced that B. turned witness.
