Injuries on Dutch model's body not consistent with fall: Forensic Investigator
The injuries found on Dutch model Ivana Smit's body, are not immediately consistent with a fall from a great height, according to forensic pathologist Frank de Groot.
Ivana died on December 7th after a night out with an American couple. She fell from the 20th floor of an apartment building in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Her naked body was found on a balcony on the 6th floor. The Malaysian authorities suddenly released Ivana's body last week. She arrived back in the Netherlands on Saturday.
The 18-year-old model's family asked Van de Groot to examine her body. "What I've seen at the very least raises my eyebrows. I've got a really strange feeling about this", Van de Groot said to RTL Nieuws.
"The preliminary findings give ample reason to carry out extensive additional investigations", Sebas Diekstra, the lawyer representing the Smit family, said. The follow-up investigations will look for, among other things, traces of alcohol and drugs in the young woman's body.
