Interpol asked to investigate naked Dutch model's fatal fall in Malaysia
The Dutch embassy in Malaysia asked European police service Interpol to look into the death of 19-year-old Ivana Smit in Kuala Lumpur last week. The Dutch model's naked body was found on the sixth floor balcony of her hotel on Thursday. The local police believe she fell from a room on the 20th fall in an accident, RTL Nieuws reports.
According to newspaper AD, Ivana called her boyfriend around 7:25 a.m. on Thursday and told him that she was with an American couple after a night out. Her naked body was found around 3:00 p.m.
But her family doubts that her death was an accident. According to Ivana's father Marcel Smit, there are bruises on his daughter's neck that show someone grabbed her there. The police told him that she fell around 10:00 a.m. "Very strange that the American couple did nothing from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Ivana's belongings were still in their apartment. The police tell me that the statements of the Americans are the same. Yes, of course: they had seven hours to coordinate them. My daughter can no longer contradict them."
Smit added that the neighbors heard shouting and arguments in the American couple's room. "The police are doing nothing with this information and only want to close the case quickly", he said to the newspaper. He believes his daughter was pushed. "We want justice", he said.
