Netherlands housing prices see biggest increase in 16 years
Existing home prices in the Netherlands increased by 8.2 percent in October, compared to the same month last year - the biggest increase since early in 2002, according to Statistics Netherlands and the Land Registry.
Housing prices in the Netherlands have been steadily rising since June 2013. The average price level of existing homes in October 2017, was at the same level as in May 2007. October's housing prices were still 4 percent lower than the price peak in August 2008, and 22 percent higher than the housing market low point in June 2013.
A total of 20,143 existing homes were sold in October - more than in October 2016, but less than in September 2017. In the first 10 months of 2017 a total of 195,815 homes were sold - over 14 percent more than in the same period last year.
