Woman found dead in Amstelveen home

A 50-year-old woman was found dead in a home in Amstelveen on Tuesday evening. Due to the "suspicious circumstances in the home", the police launched an investigation, the police said in a statement on Wedneday.

Police officers responded to the home on Prunuslaan around 10:50 p.m., after someone called and reported that the woman was dead in the home. A forensic team did a trace evidence investigation in the home.

According to the police, it is not yet clear how the woman died or whether a crime was committed.

The police call on witnesses to come forward.
