Young man, 20, seriously hurt in Rotterdam shooting

A 20-year-old man from Rotterdam was seriously injured in a shooting on Ambachtsplein in the Rotterdam neighborhood of Zevenkamp on Monday afternoon, the police announced in a statement. He was rushed to the hospital, and his current condition is unknown.

The shooting happened around 4:45 p.m. As far as the police can tell at this stage, the incident involved one perpetrator firing a single shot. The victim was hit in the chest.

The police immediately closed down the square for investigation. A trace evidence investigation was done, and officers spoke to bystanders.

The motive for the shooting is not yet known, but the police currently believe it was about an argument between the victim and perpetrator.
