Body found in search for 17-year-old boy

A body was found in the Oostrand Park in Almere on Tuesday. Police officers were searching the park with sniffer dogs for a missing 17-year-old boy. The body has not yet been officially identified, but the police are "taking into account" that it may be the Almere teenager, the police said in a statement.

The body was found in the water of a lake in the park. A police spokesperson could say nothing about the cause of death to newspaper AD.

The boy, identified only as Willem by local news, was last seen in Oostrand Park with friends on Saturday night. He left his friends around midnight and there's since been no trace of him. He was reported missing on Monday.
