Fmr. alderman acquitted of sex with teen girl; Prosecutor appeals
The Rotterdam court acquitted former CDA alderman in Gorinchem Eeuwit K. of having sex with a 16-year-old girl. The Public Prosecutor, who demanded 1.5 years in prison against the 31-year-old man, is appealing, the Telegraaf reports.
K. confessed to having a short sexual relationship with the teenager in the spring of 2015, while he was leader of the Gorinchem faction of the CDA. He told the court that he regrets his adultery, but maintained that it was a mutual relationship.
The former alderman knew the girl from church and she worked as babysitter for his children. The relationship remained secret until the girl went to the police in February 2016 on the advice of a pastor.
