Kids to have their own firework show in Rotterdam this New Year's

This New Year's there will be a fireworks show especially for children in Rotterdam, the organizers of the National Fireworks at the Erasmus Bridge announced. The Kids Fireworks will be held on a pontoon at the bridge between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on New Years Eve, ANP reports.

The kids' show will consists less of loud, banging fireworks, and more fireworks with a fairytale like atmosphere, Klaas Rohde said on behalf of the organizers. "You see that there is an increasing need for a joint fireworks show, and this coming year change we are also doing it for the young children. In that way they also get the special atmosphere around the turn of the year", he said, according to the news wire.

The municipality of Rotterdam agreed to a subsidy for the event on Monday. Rohde expects that the Kids Fireworks will attract between 5 and 10 thousand visitors. The show will be broadcast on RTL4.
