Amsterdam man caught extorting, threatening gay men
The Amsterdam police caught a 32-year-old man extorting and threatening at least five homosexual men he met through the 'Bullchat' website. Investigators believe he may have victimized more men and call on victims to come forward, AD reports.
Between July 2016 and June 2017 the man threatened and extorted five men. He arranged meetings with them through Bullchat - a website where homosexual men can chat anonymously. After meeting, the man demanded money from the men and threatened them with violence and that he will reveal their sexual orientation. He even broke one of his victims' jaw.
"Almost all men paid several times", a spokesperson for the Public Prosecutor said to AD. "The amounts range from a few tens to sometimes thousands of euros. If someone refused to pay, punches were thrown. As far as we know, none of the victims' sexual orientation were made public."
The man met and interacted with his victims in and around Amsterdam. He has dark skin and is about 1.8 meters tall. He called himself Jeffrey, Benito, Fernando, and Diablo when meeting his victims.
The police call on any other victims of this man to press charges against him.
