Brasserie Staverden named best terrace in Netherlands

Brasserie Staverden in the Gelderland village of Staverden won first place in Misset Horeca's top 100 terraces in the Netherlands. The jury praised Brasserie Staverden for its beautiful terrace, warm hospitality and enthusiastic staff.

The terrace in Staverden is divided into three parts. First the central terrace, which the jury describes as "nice, clean, tidy and well-kept". The central terrace offers space for about 120 guests to enjoy coffee, wine or something to eat. The second part offers 50 seats in a former peacock cage. And during the summer the third part is composed of beach chairs on the lawn in front of the large terrace.

"Brasserie Staverden is chic and exudes luxury, but at the same time is also immensely accessible", the jury concludes.

Second place went to De Werf in Veere, Zeeland. The Harbour Club in Rotterdam took third pace.

A total of 400 terraces were evaluated for this ranking, according to NU.nl. Groningen is the only Dutch province not to have a terrace in the top 100. Gelderland and Noord-Holland are most represented, each with 17 terraces on the list.
