Spring has sprung with temps topping 20 degrees

Spring arrived in the Netherlands with temperatures topping 20 degrees for the first time this season on Tuesday. Around 2:30 p.m. it was 20.2 degrees Celsius in Eindhoven and 20.0 degrees in Arcen. The usual afternoon temperatures for late March is 11 to 12 degrees, Weeronline reports

For spring to officially arrive in the Netherlands, temperatures must reach 20 degrees at the national weather station De Bilt. Weeronline expects this to happen on Thursday. Normally the first warm day of spring in the Netherlands happens around mid April.

The last time it was 20 degrees anywhere in the country was on October 16th last year.

Temperatures for today will range between 12 and 16 degrees and the day will be mostly cloudy with occasional sunshine. From Thursday afternoon temps will climb to 20 degrees and above, according to Weeronline.
