Amsterdam women accused of seducing, robbing older men found online

The Amsterdam police arrested one man and two women on January 30th. They are suspected of seducing elderly men online, making a date with them and then robbing them of their belongings, the police said in a statement on Thursday. Investigators believe that more men may have fallen victim to these perpetrators and call on them to contact the police.

According to the police, the two women contacted older men on dating site Badoo. They chatted with them for some time and sometimes made an appointment to meet. During the meeting they robbed their victims of their money and other valuables. Some of the robberies may have happened under the threat of a weapon. And the investigation indicates that these robberies may have taken place in different locations, not only Amsterdam.

The women both come from Amsterdam and its surrounding area. The first suspect is a 19-year-old white woman. She has long blond hair, a slender build and is between 1.65 and 1.7 meters tall. The second suspect is a 21-year-old woman with slightly tanned skin. She has long dark hair, a normal stature and is between 1.7 and 1.75 meters tall.

It is unclear how the male suspect fits into this.

So far one man pressed charges against the women with the police, but investigators believe that the women made several more victims. Investigators call on victims to come forward, emphasizing that all reports will be handled very discreetly.

These two suspects are not the first Amsterdam residents to rob their dates. In December 2015 a 43-year-old Amsterdam man was sentenced to 10 years in prison for drugging and robbing three gay men on dates, and robbing another eight without drugging them. And in June of that same year another man woke up to find his valuables stolen after inviting someone he met at a club home with him.
