Crews search for barge skipper gone overboard in Amsterdam port

Emergency services responded en masse to the Westelijk Havengebied of Amsterdam's port on Tuesday night after a skipper on a barge went overboard. Fire brigade divers found him and brought him ashore, NOS reports.

The skipper went overboard around 9:00 p.m. and was found about 45 minutes later. He was rushed to the hospital. His condition is unknown. The water temperature in the port of Amsterdam was around 5 degrees last night.

According to AT5, the accident happened at a company in the Amerikahaven.
