Cop shoots man after Zwolle apartment fire
The police shot and injured a man after a fire in an apartment building in Zwolle on Monday morning. He was taken to hospital with injuries in his leg, according to De Stentor.
The fire started in the apartment building on Van der Laenstraat around 2:30 a.m. on Monday. The building was evacuated. After the fire was extinguished and the fire department started cleaning up, several shots were fired.
Bystanders told e Stentor that the man was threatening the police with a knife. Why he did so is unclear. The police fired several warning shots before finally shooting the an in the leg. According to the newspaper, the shot man is believed to be the owner of the apartment in which the fire started.
As far as is known, no one was injured in the fire.
