Tip leads to abducted man's missing car
The police recovered the car of a man who was kidnapped in Nunspreet on Friday. The black Mercedes was found late on Monday in Putten following a tip, the police said in a statement. The case will be discussed on Opsporing Verzocht on Tuesday.
Ronald Maurits, 53 from Doornspijk in Gelderland, was kidnapped in Nunspeet on Friday morning. Three masked men dragged him out of his car and into another car. One of the kidnappers drove off in Maurits' car.
Maurits showed up at his home on Friday night, but his car was still missing. So far the police said nothing about a possible motive for the kidnapping. According to Maurits, he got the idea that the kidnappers realized they took the wrong person and let him go.
The Mercedes was found parked on Waterweg in Putten, near the A28.
No arrests were made so far.
