Woman stabbed, thrown with acid in Amsterdam apartment building

A 43-year-old woman was stabbed and had a corrosive liquid thrown in her face in Amsterdam-Zuidoost on Sunday afternoon, the police said on Monday. Her attacker was an as yet unidentified woman.

Tthe victim was walking out of an apartment building on Geldershoofd when she was attacked. A corrosive liquid was thrown in her face. A struggle ensued and she was stabbed with a sharp object before her attacker ran off. The incident happened around 4:45 p.m.

The woman was admitted to a hospital for treatment.

The police are calling on witnesses to come forward.
