Six month suspension for Brabant doctor after sex with patient
The Regional Disciplinary Tribunal in Eindhoven suspended a doctor in Brabant for six months for a sexual relationship he had with a patient, Omroep Brabant reports.
After two appointments with the doctor, the female patient asked the doctor if he was single. They chatted online and had sex in her home. The woman found out that the doctor was already in a relationship and refused to make an end to it. So she decided to file a complaint with the disciplinary committee.
The doctor admited to the Tribunal that he had a relationship with the woman. According to him, he asked her to find another doctor. And when he tried to break off the relationship with her, she threatend to file a complaint.
The Tribunal ruled that the doctor acted negligently by having sex with a patient. He was suspended from working as a doctor for six months.
