Fathers searching for missing Dutch teens in Spain

The fathers of missing Dutch teens Femke Lucas and Sam Bruijs are in Spain helping the local authorties look for their daughters. There are now indications that the two 16-year-old girls are no longer in Malaga, but in Marbella, some 60 km away, Omroep Brabant reports based on information from a spokesperson for the famiies.

Femke and Sam disappeared from their home town Bergen op Zoom on Tuesday. It seems they travelled to Eindhoven Airport, from where they took a plane to Malaga. They can be seen getting on a bus on surveillance camera footage at the Malaga airport. From then there was no sign of them, until a tip came in late on Thursday that they were seen in Marbella.

For both families the disappearance of the two friends is a mystery. They took very little luggage and left their phones and computers at home. The police are also in the dark.

The Dutch authorities asked the Spanish police for help, as two underage girls are involved. At this stage there is no reason to believe the Dutch teenagers fell victim to a crime. "We sincerely hope that this is a cry for attention", a spokesperson for the families said to the broadcaster.
