Dutch congressman may lead CIA under Pres. Trump

Pete Hoekstra from Groningen is a candidate to run the United States intelligence service CIA under Donald Trump's administration. He would consider it an honor, he said to Newsmax TV. "But this is a call that Mr. Trump needs to make", the 63-year-old Dutch man said to the American station. "He needs to have someone that he can have total confidence in at the CIA."

Hoekstra continues that he's gotten to know Trump very well during the past months. "I really worked hard on his campaign. Knowing him, knowing what he stands for and knowing what he wants to get done in America, I would be thrilled to be part of the process of making America great again. Both domestically and internationally."

According to Dutch broadcaster NOS, Hoekstra moved to the United States at the age of three. He worked in the furniture sector and was member of the United States House of Representatives in Michigan and Congressman for many years. He still speaks a bit of Dutch.
