Poor results triggers C&A to close four stores

Retail chain C&A is closing four stores in May and June next year, Trouw reports based on a letter the HR director sent to staff members. Affected stores are the store on Vredenburg and in Kanaleneiland in Urecht, as well as stores in Pijacker and NIjverdal.

According to the newspaper, these stores are closing due to their "poor economic results". C&A does not expect the results to improve in the coming years.

The clothing chain's works council and the Brenninkmeijer family agreed with the closures. No one will be laid off. Employees will be given jobs at nearby stores.
