Making a Murderer attorneys heading to Amsterdam

Attorneys Dean Strang and Jerry Buting of Netflix documentary Making a Murderer are heading for Amsterdam. On March 20th they will be in the De Meervaart theater to discuss the high-profile trial that is the focus of their documentary. Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions.

The documentary is about the trial that ended in American man Steven Avery being convicted for rape and attempted murder in 1985 and sentenced to 32 years in prison, according to Wikipedia. He spent 18 years in prison before a DNA test exonerated him. Two years later, in 2005, he was arrested for the murder of Teresa Halbach. According to Avery, he was tricked and framed by the local police.

The documentary shows the story of Avery, two years after his release in 2007. Stang and Buting helped him in the process that followed.

Making a Murderer released on Netflix in December last year. A second season was announced.
