Illegal fireworks sites taken down; one arrested

A 25-year-old man from the Gelderland town of Aalst was arrested on Tuesday for running a website trading illegal fireworks. The police found illegal fireworks and two firearms in his home, the police said in a statement. The police launched an investigation into sites advertising illegal fireworks in June. The investigation revealed that the suspect runs three of these sites. The sites were taken down by the police. The man's 23-year-old girlfriend was also arrested after the police discovered firearms in the home. The police also visited a number of people who were active on the site. A total of 1,200 kilograms were discovered at two addresses. The fireworks were seized and destroyed.
