At least two hurt in truck crash at Nieuwendijk; A27 closed

At least two people were injured in an accident involving a truck and several cars on the A27 near Nieuwendijk on Tuesday afternoon. The A27 highway heading towards Utrecht is closed, NOS reports. At this stage it seems that the truck crashed into a traffic jam, a police spokesperson said to the broadcaster. Three cars and the truck were involved, he said. An air ambulance landed on the highway to help the injured people. Their current condition is unknown. Motorists are advised to take a detour via the Hooiiploder junction, via the A59. Traffic service ANWB expects the problems on the A27 to persist through the evening rush hour.
