Herman Brood museum gets go-ahead in historic Zwolle Celecomplex

Zwolle is opening a Herman Brood museum in the Celecomplex on the corner of Blijmarkt and Papenstraat, the mayor and aldermen announced. This will cement the Zwolle-born artist's connection to the city they hope. The Celecomplex, which has been empty since 2014, will house a permanent Herman Brood exhibit and a store. Plans for the rest of the building include activities for primary school kids, workshops and exhibition possibilities for new artists and other events working with cultural organizations and educational institutions in the city. The plans for the Celecomplex are the initiative of Zwolle entrepreneur Ivo de Lange. According to RTV Noord, he was a friend of Brood's. The Zwolle Mayor and aldermen are delighted with De Lange's initiative. "We are delighted that the complex is again given a cultural destination, with an attraction for younger visitors", alderman Rene de Heer said.
