Schiphol to use facial recognition to quickly guide passengers

From early next year Schiphol airport will be using facial recognition technology in an experiment on quickly steering passengers to the right gates, Schiphol NeXt innovation manager Christiaan Hen said to the Telegraaf. The airport is also installing a new WiFi Network for free internet and digital signs. "The aim ois to better spread out the crowds. High-tech tracking and ID apps on smartphones will make up the service in a few years", Hen said to the newspaper. "The apps contain personal information in order to quickly direct passengers via smart scans trough checkpoints."
