Police call on witnesses in Amsterdam stabbing; one seriously injured
The Amsterdam police are looking for people who witnessed a stabbing at Kraaiennest in Amsterdam-Zuidoost on Saturday night. One man was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.
The police responded to reports of a stabbing victim found near apartment building Kruitberg around 11:00 p.m. on Saturday. Emergency services gave the 34-year-old victim first aid and an ambulance rushed him to the hospital.
Investigating officers believe the victim got into an argument with someone else in Kraaiennest. The argument got out of hand and the victim was stabbed. He fled and collapsed at Kruitberg.
A trace evidence investigation was done at the scene and the area was searched, but the perpetrator is still at large. The police want to talk to anyone who has any information about his whereabouts.
The perpetrator has dark skin, is about 1.8 meters tall and is between the ages of 34 and 40 years old. At the time of the stabbing he was wearing grey trousers, a checkered shirt, brown jacket and browns hoes. He has a goatee and had his dreadlocks wrapped in a cream-colored buff.
This was the second stabbing in Amsterdam-Zuidoost on Saturday. Around 12:15 p.m. another man was injured after being stabbed in an argument t a bar on Develstein. The victim was taken to the hospital, according to Het Parool. The perpetrator fled, but was arrested soon after.
