Schiedam resident killed in skydiving accident

A 48-year-old resident of Schiedam died in a parachute jump in the Belgian town of Opglabbeek on Saturday. An error in judgement resulted in the man landing too hard. Attempts to resuscitate him were to no avail, the Telegraaf reports. The man and a group of 17 others made the 13 thousand feet jump on Saturday afternoon. His parachute opened normally and all seemed well until the landing. The victim was an experienced skydiver and was a member of skydiving club PCV Schaffen. Belgian media reports that the victim is a British man that lived in Schiedam.
