Suspect in campsite sex assault of young girl talks to investigators

A French man arrested for sexually assaulting an 8-year-old Dutch girl on a campsite in Ardeche, France, gave the police a partial confession. He admitted that he "touched" the girl, but denies raping her, ANP reports. The 32-year-old suspect though that a "young woman or teenager" was in the tent. He left when he found out it was a young child, he said to the French authorities. The man lives in Ardeche and has two kids of his own. He has no criminal record. The suspect was indicted before a court in Lyon on Sunday. He is facing rape charges.
