Bomb threat led to arrest on Dutch highway
A man was arrested on the A4 highway towards Schiphol on Monday morning for making a bomb threat on a tour bus, the police said in a statement.
According to the police, around 8:53 a.m. a report was received that a person on the tour bus was making strange comments containing the word "bomb". The Koninklijke Marechaussee responded. The bus was brought to a stand still near the Nieuw-Sloten off ramp, passengers were evacuated and the man was arrested.
The tour bus was searched and nothing dangerous was found. Passengers were allowed back on the bus, which took them to their final destination - Schiphol Airport.
The highway was closed while the suspect was arrested and the bus was searched, but is now open to all traffic again.
