Tilburg police investigate burglar's claim of being a Pokemon hunter

The Tilburg police are investigating whether a 31-year-old man arrested in the city during the early hours of Sunday morning is a burglar or was just hunting for Pokemon, the police said in a statement on Sunday. Officers responded to a report of local residents catching a burglar on Thomas van Aquinostraat at around 1:00 a.m. on Sunday. At the scene they found a man in the custody of five people from the same family. The man, bleeding from his mouth and with other signs that he was assaulted, was taken to the police station. There he told officers that he was playing Pokemon Go and was hunting for Pokemon when the the group jumped him. Both parties pressed charges against each other. "It is currently not clear exactly what was going on", the police said in the statement. On Monday the police announced that they dropped the case against the Pokemon hunter. No traces of a break in were found and the phone description the burglary reporters gave did not match the suspect. He was released later on Sunday.
