IKEA warns about unsafe staircase baby gates

IKEA issued a warning stating that the baby gates for staircase the store sold for years is unsafe. The company received several reports of children falling down the stairs when the gates opened unexpectedly, sometimes resulting in injury, ANP reports. This involves three types of baby gates named Patrull, Patrull Klamma and Patrull fast. IKEA has been selling these gates for years, the last one since 1998. The furniture chain calls on customers to stop using these gates immediately. The gates can be returned to the store for a full refund. No receipt necessary. In May last year IKEA also issued a warning over unsafe baby gates with the Patrull product name.
