Ruling party plans to charge tenants sewage tax

Ruling party VVD wants renters to pay sewage tax, just like homeowners already do. Parliamentarian Hayke Veldman will submit a legislative proposal to achieve this by the end of summer, he confirmed to the Telegraaf. According to Veldman, about half of municipalities hold homeowners partly or fully responsible for paying the sewage charges. "Everyone benefits from this and then it is also fair if everyone pays his fair share." he said to the newspaper. Veldman believes that a majority of parliament will support his legislative proposal.
