Lawyer in police corruption probe claims cop made death threats

Defense attorney Mark Teurlings received death threats after he worked on a EenVandaag report in which several lawyers stated that the police and judiciary steal money and valuable goods on a "large scale" as they are seized, ANP reports. Teurlings reported the death threats at the Amsterdam police's insistence, the lawyer said to the news wire. A spokesperson for the police refused to comment on the matter for privacy reasons. According to the lawyer, the death threats were emailed to him after the EenVandaag broadcast. The perpetrator wanted him to take back his allegation. The perpetrator claimed to be from the police, but tried to disguise his identity. Despite this, Teurlings is on the perpetrator's track, he said to ANP.
