At least one hurt after Dutch ship crashes into Antwerp bridge

One person was seriously injured when Dutch freighter Amadeus Amethist crashed int a bridge on the Albert canal in Antwerp on Tuesday, ANP reports. There were eight people aboard the 85 meter long ship at the time of the accident. The seriously injured person was taken to a hospital. In the collision the cockpit got stuck under the bridge and was completely destroyed. Emergency services filled the ship with water to make it heavier. It dropped further into the water and could be pulled out from under the bridge. The cause of the accident is unknown.
