Call for information in Diemen assassination

The police released more details about the assassination of Vincent Jalink on Opsporing Verzocht on Tuesday in the hopes that information from the public will lead to a resolution of this case. The 38-year-old Jalink was gunned down in front of his young son in Diemen on Friday, May 27th.

Jalink was shot several times as he was sitting in his black Porsche Cayenne with his son on Klipperweg in Diemen just after 10:00 p.m. on Friday. He stumbled out of the car and collapsed on the street. Emergency services resuscitated him and rushed him to the hospital, where he died of his injuries. According to the police, Jalink had a criminal record and was well known to the police and judiciary. Detectives are still looking to make contact with a number of witnesses as well as anyone with any information related to this case. Some witnesses told the police that they saw a man in dark clothing running away from the scene and towards the petrol station on Diemerpolderweg. There some witnesses say he got onto a scooter with dark license. Others say they saw him drive away in a dark colored car. The investigating officers would like to talk to anyone with information about the flight routes. Immediately after the shooting, several bystanders rushed to aid the victim and tried to talk to him. The detectives want to talk to any of these people who haven't given a statement yet. The investigating officers are also looking for video or photo footage of the incident, or of the hours before and after the incident. This could be footage from a surveillance camera hanging outside the home or footage filmed on a cellphone. This footage may contain information relevant to the investigation. Finally the police want to talk to anyone who can give more information about Jalink himself.
