"Terror jackdaw" attacks at Ulvenhout primary school

A girl was attacked by a bird which is now known as the "terror jackdaw" near De Rosmolen elementary school in Ulvenhout on Tuesday morning. She is one of several kids who fell victim to the bird over the past weeks, Omroep Brabant reports. The bird attack was caught on video. It shows the girl arriving at the school with her bike when the bird swoops down on her. She runs away, but the bird keeps coming. Other kids on the school yard also panic as the jackdaw circles and dives over them. A professional bird catcher was called in on Friday, but so far had no success in catching the "terror jackdaw". One black jackdaw looks pretty much like another. One local resident thinks the jackdaw is friendly and just wants to play. "I think he was tamed somewhere else. Now he found something to eat and hears the calls of children. He is quite playful and wants to play with them. But the children find that scary and think they are being attacked. It is unfortunate that something goes wrong in the communication", she said to the broadcaster. https://youtu.be/exaGXFKq9Rw
