Prosecutor: Corrupt cop a flight risk

The Public Prosecutor demanded that Mark M., the former police officer suspected of leaking confidential information to criminals, remain in custody until his trial. There are indications that M. plans to leave the country if he is released, the prosecutor told the court in Den Bosch on Tuesday, ANP reports. According to the Prosecutor, M. has several passports and is definitely a flight risk. There is also a chance that he will try and frustrate the ongoing investigation or continue with his criminal activities should he be released. The court will decide whether M. will remanded back into custody later on Tuesday. This is the second time M. is appearing in public court. M. is suspected of copying thousands of pages of confidential police investigation information and selling it to criminals.
