De Bijenkorf files €1.5 million lawsuit on faulty renovations claim
Department store De Bijenkorf filed a 1.5 million euro lawsuit against construction company BAM. The case is appearing in court on Wednesday, according to Het Parool.
According to the department store, BAM did not fulfill agreements on the renovations of a Bijenkorf branch on Dam square in Amsterdam. Bijenkorf is holding the construction company responsible for four months' delay in the renovations. No work was done on the branch since late lat year.
BAM claims that the project was completed and that there is a difference in opinion on what still needs to be done. "There are a few issues still to be settled. We are prepared to do so, but De Bijenkorf denied us access to the property", a spokesperson said to the newspaper.
