Teen military member accused of assaulting train conductor

A 19-year-old Dutch soldier was arrested on Stationsplein in Nijmegen on Sunday on suspicion that he assaulted a train conductor, the police announced on Monday. The suspect assaulted the conductor after being addressed for smoking on the train. The conductor fell out of the train on to the platform during the scuffle. Another conductor and bystanders managed to detain the man. He was arrested and taken to the police station. There officers discovered that the 19 year old man from Arnhem is a member of the military. He was transferred to the Koninklijke Marechaussee, a policing force that works as part of the military.
