Video shows suspects linked to British tourist drowning

The police released camera footage of three men robbing British tourist Richard Cole shortly before he ended up in the waters of Amsterdam canal Heregracht. Cole's body was recovered from the canal early this month. The video shows Cole, looking very intoxicated, being accosted by three men. He was eventually robbed of his belongings. "We think it's a very cowardly act, because it was obvious the young man could barely stand on his legs", police spokesperson Ellie Lust said to Amsterdam broadcaster AT5. Though it does not show on this video, the police also have footage of Cole ending up on the ground and then rolling into the canal. The three men are only suspected of robbing Cole, not murdering him, as they were not close to him when he ended up in the water. The police are hoping that someone recognizes the robbers. One of the robbers' face is blurred out, because his identity is already known to the police.
