German driver badly hurt when iron object smashes windscreen

A 36 year old German motorist was seriously injured on Monday morning when an iron object smashed through his windshield. He was taken to the hospital. The man was driving on the N270 near Deurne and was passing a gas station when the accident happened, according to Omroep Brabant. He suffered a serious head wound. His passenger, a 31 year old man from Germany, managed to pull the car off he road safely. He was not injured. How the iron object came to smash through the man's windshield, is unclear. The police are investigating.
