Court: Amsterdam HIV patient may grow his own medical marijuana

An HIV patient in Amsterdam will be allowed to continue growing his own medicinal marijuana, the court in Amsterdam ruled on Wednesday, according to news wire ANP. The HIV medications the man has to take makes him nauseous and causes him to vomit, which means that he can not keep this vital medication in. His home-grown cannabis negates the nausea. The Netherlands does have a designated firm that cultivates medicinal marijuana, but the available varieties does not work for the man. The court therefore decided to let the man continue to grow his own cannabis, in order to avoid a life-threatening situation.
