Chemicals left on playground slide severely burns child, 3

A three year old boy sustained serious burns while playing on a slide on Hooge Weere in Zwaag on Saturday. His doctor believes the burns were caused by a chemical substance, like glue or paint remover, on the slide. "He came home crying and with his pants around his ankles. At first the wound seemed to be a regular abrasion and we thought it is not serious", the boy's father said to RTV Noord-Holland. "But the next morning it was a burn of about 15 centimeters in diameter, and we went to the doctor." The parents reported the incident to the police, who is doing a technical investigation. The municipality is also investigating. The boy's father believes that young troublemakers are behind it. "They thought it funny that someone would slide through it, but probably did not think about the disastrous consequences." https://www.facebook.com/rtvnh/posts/1061898737174801
