Air France-KLM hit hard since Paris Attacks

The aftermath of the terrorist attacks in Paris on November 13th was hard on Air France-KLM. The attacks cost the airline group an estimated 70 million euros in lost turnover, the group announced on Monday, news wire ANP reports. In November alone the group missed out on an estimated 50 million euros in income. The last two weeks of the year did show a significant improvement, however. According to the group, tourists - particularly the safety conscious Japanese - avoided Paris after the attacks. Paris is where Air France has its international hub. Last month the company stated that it may take up to six months before bookings are back up to standards. In December 6.2 million passengers flew with Air France, KLM or regional French carrier Hop - a decrease of 1.1 percent compared to the same period in 2014. The number of passenger flown kilometers increased by 0.7 percent, with a 0.9 percent capacity oncrease. On average 82.8 percent of the seats were occupied, a fraction less than in 2014
