Dutch watch 190 mins. of TV daily; Netherlands v. Turkey top sports show

The average person living in the Netherlands viewed 190 minutes of television every day, down 4.8 percent from a year earlier. In 2014, the Netherlands put on a strong showing in both the Winter Olympics and the World Cup, but no such events took place in 2015. The 2016 European Championships qualifier football match between Oranje and Turkey was the most-watched sports program in the Netherlands last year. About 3,536,000 people watched Turkey defeat the Dutch national team by a score of 3-0 in Konya, according to television ratings organisation Kijkonderzoek. The broadcast was the sixth most-watched show among all programs last year. At the top was the March 15 edition of Boer Zoekt Vrouw, a reality show about a farmer searching for his potential future bride. That show drew 4,634,000 viewers. Other top shows last year include Passion (April 4), the Herman Finkers New Year’s Eve special (December 31), Boer Zoekt Vrouw Special (December 27) and Wie is de Mol (March 5). All of the top eleven programs aired on a Dutch public broadcaster, mostly on NPO 1.
